On Easter Sunday (2009), flowers were woven into the crown of thorns on the wooden cross as a symbol of new life and resurrection. This was created by Laura Brown, a member of our congregation.

Everyone in the congregation on Easter Sunday (2009) was involved in transforming the empty black cross into a riot of colour by placing paper butterflies all over it. Butterflies are a symbol of resurrection.
